Is President Mahama Appointing Dominic Ayine As His Attorney-General

Dominic Ayine is rumoured to become the new Attorney-General
President Mahama’s team seems to be taking shape with two of the lawyers who will defend him during the hearing of NPP’s petition at the Supreme Court likely to be appointed as Attorney-Generals.
The two Dominic Ayine and Tony Lithur will replace the Dr Benjamin Kunbour who is now the Majority leader and Mr Ebo Barton Odro who is also the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
President Mahama is expected to name the men and women who will help him implement his ‘Better Ghana’ agenda.
Sources close to the presidency says barring any last minute changes, the two lawyers who have both worked on several cases involving some members of the party will be appointed to fill the two positions at the A-G’s department.
Lawyers who know the two gentlemen say they are both competent and capable of running the Attorney-General’s Department.
Government lost almost all the high profile cases it took court during the Mills-Mahama – Mahama-Amissah-Arthur administration.
It would be expected that Mr Ayine will Attorney-General with Mr Lithur as his deputy will ensure government secures some court-room victories under the current NDC administration.
Dominic Ayine is a lecturer at the faculty of law at the University of Ghana and MP for Bolga East, while Tony Lithur is a legal practitioner in Accra.
The two will work with Anthony Gyambibi, a former prosecutor who was appointed as Deputy Attorney-General.
